For us relaxed and liberal Europeans Muslim culture is strange. Even weird and disturbing at times. Strict, loud prayers, covered women, complete ban of alcohol – all this stuff is not something we are used to.

Kuwait is considered one of those oil-rich, advanced and modern Islamic countries. However, the religious restraints still proved to be above everything. During a concert, a young female fan somehow managed to get on the stage and kissed the performing Egyptian singer. Due to such an ‘obscene’ act, the concert was stopped.

Something else that is worth mentioning. Since 1997 the ministry of information spectates every single concert in Kuwait and tries to prevent people from dancing. And no, this is not a misunderstanding – you actually are not allowed to dance in concerts. Talk about tolerance now.
