Glasgow Rangers lose and fall out of the European Competition
Who could ever expect that. The glorious Rangers were up for a match against a hardly known FBK Kaunas club from a tiny country in Eastern Europe, Lithuania. It was supposed to be a piece of cake, a feather weight opponent that would expose no threat for Glasgow’s way to the Champions League. The story in the end was strikingly different.

When the pair played a doubtful nil-nil at Ibrox, everyone was expecting a massive revenge from Rangers over in Lithuania. And it was actually going that way after Kevin Thomson scored in the 33rd minute, having received a fine pass from Nacho Novo. It seemed as if the Rangers had done it, with their difficulties, but the ultimate goal was reached. No. Instead, the Scots were approaching their dressing rooms with rather petrified faces as Nerijus Radzius scored a great free-kick just two minutes before halftime.
As the equalizer has set the odds level again, the second part of the game was only showing several unsuccessful attempts from each sides. The Lithuanians struck again with only 4 minutes left to play, when Linas Pilibaitis headed it in from a corner. The ball went past 3 Rangers’ players and into the net.
FBK Kaunas has rewritten the history books of Lithuanian football, being only one step away from the main tournament of the Champions League. This has never been achieved by this country before. While Scottish fans are in absolute disbelief, witnessing the huge slump their club is in. This painful loss came after an even more embarrassing 0-4 defeat by Liverpool at Ibrox.
