The trends of cars are well and truly in top gear driving straight to insanity. What do you normally do to have your beloved vehicle stand out from the rest in the neighbourhood? Put on some oversized chrome wheels? It’s not enough. Spend another 10 grand on modifications? Not enough. Even sticking up a few diamonds on it would not be enough. What is actually enough these days is having your daily Porsche entirely covered with gold. Now that is definitely something.

A car of this kind exists. And it is not where you would expect it to be. Not Hollywood, not Monte Carlo, not even Wayne Rooney’s garage. It is in Russia! And it is usually left parked all alone, unsecured in the city centre.

The main bodywork is covered with the pattern of gold bricks. While the rear spoiler, floormats and other detailed parts were decorated in the traditional ‘Khokhloma’ style, giving it a bit of entirely Russian flavour.

It is obviously not the kind of Porsche you would normally see during an ordinary trackday at Silverstone. Gold weighs many times more than carbon fiber which is used in making sportscars. Supposedly, one of many Russian businessmen who desire to be unique in Moscow’s streets. The streets that most probably have more luxury cars than entire Eastern Europe put together.
